The Scott's Cheap Flights Scholarship awards US$1,000 two times per year.
No purchase necessary. The Scott’s Cheap Flights Study Abroad Scholarship is open to any citizen and/or resident of the United States (and its territories and possessions) who will be enrolled full-time at an accredited institution of higher learning for Fall Semester 2018. All other entries will be disqualified.
Each student may only submit one entry. If it is determined that a participant has entered with more than one identity, all of the participant’s submissions will be disqualified.
Application period starts on October 16, 2018 at 12:00am PST. Winner will be notified via email on or before March 15, 2019. Scholarship money will be awarded no later than April 15, 2019.
All portions of the application must be answered and all requested documents must be attached.
Failure to fully answer the essay question or provide all documentation could deem an application ineligible.
To be considered for the scholarship, all applicants must be planning to study abroad in the 2018 or 2019 school year.
Once submitted, no confirmation email will be sent to the applicant and any other requests related to the application will not guarantee a response from Scotts Cheap Flights.
No notification will be sent to non-winning applicants.
The essay must have a title and be written in English.
Essays must be original and factually accurate, and they must not be in the public domain. The submission of false information will result in automatic disqualification. By submitting an essay to the Scott’s Cheap Flights Study Abroad Scholarship, each student acknowledges his or her understanding of and compliance with these rules. Scott’s Cheap Flights reserves the right to disqualify any entry deemed inappropriate for publication per the company’s discretion.
All entries must be received no later than March 15, 2019 at 11:59pm PST to be eligible for the scholarship.
Scholarship awards are non-transferable. Competition is void where prohibited or restricted by law. Winner will be solely responsible for any federal, state or local taxes. Winner must provide an email address to which Scott’s Cheap Flights can email the winner a publicity release and a W-9 for tax purposes in order to qualify for receipt of the scholarship award in the amount of $1,000. Once completed, winner must provide a valid PayPal account email address to which the scholarship funds will be sent.
All essays and all rights to their publication become the property of Scott’s Cheap Flights, which may use, edit and excerpt these entries for purposes promotional or otherwise including placing them online without compensation, additional or otherwise. Scott’s Cheap Flights reserves the right to use the winners’ names and other basic information in any advertising or promotional materials relating to this scholarship without further notification, permission, or compensation to the winner, except where prohibited by law.
