Q. How many cheap flight alerts will I receive?

A. The number of cheap flight alerts you receive depends on a combination of factors including your deal alert preferences, location, and membership tier.

Premium members have the ability to track individual airports, while Free members receive cheap flight alerts from a region encompassing many airports.

Q. Are you going to spam me with lame deals?

A. No. Never. Our team of real live flight experts evaluate every deal to ensure it’s not too good to be true. We look at ticket price, itinerary, airline reputation, add-on fees and a variety of other factors to determine if the deal meets our standards.

While every deal we send meets our rigorous standards, we do reserve many of our best deals for Premium members.

Q. Will there be deals from airports near me?

A. The short answer: in most cases, yes, there will be deals from airports near you.

The longer, more nuanced answer is that the number of deals you receive is highly dependent on which airports or regions you’ve selected to receive notifications for. Large airports, hubs, and international airports tend to receive a greater volume of deals.

Tip: If you live in a smaller town or your local airport is not an international airport, we recommend configuring your settings to track one or more major airports. In many cases our deals are so good that it’s still a major savings after taking a short domestic flight to a larger airport.

Q. Can I set specific travel dates on Scott's Cheap Flights?

A. In short, no. While this may seem like a huge feature to be missing, this is actually intentional!

Why? Because by setting specific date filters, you’re likely to miss out on the best deals.

Most of the deals we send are for flights 2-8 months in the future, so even members with relatively fixed travel plans are likely to find a great deal!

Q. Can you help me find cheap flights to a specific destination?

A. We’d love to provide one-on-one flight search assistance, however we are unable to offer that support at this time.

We search most international routes and airlines for cheap international flights 24/7 and will alert you when we find a deal departing from one of your preferred departure airports.

Q. Does Scott's Cheap Flights send last-minute deals?

A. No. Most of the cheap flight deals we send are for itineraries approximately two to eight months in the future. Every deal alert email contains details on which dates the deal is good for.

Q. Does Scott's Cheap Flights send business class or first class flight deals?

A. The vast majority of the cheap flight alerts we send are for economy class tickets, but every once in a while we send our cheap business class or first class flight deals.

Q. Does Scott's Cheap Flights send domestic flight deals?

A. Almost all of the cheap flight notifications we send are for international flights, since those are the most expensive and have the highest potential for savings.

We do, however, frequently send cheap flights departing from the continental United States (lower 48 states) to Hawaii, Alaska and Puerto Rico.

Q. Will airlines honor the prices found by Scott's Cheap Flights?

A. Will the airlines honor these prices?

In most cases airlines will honor reservations. It is very rare for an airline to cancel your ticket.

If you’re booking what’s known as a mistake fare (or error fare), we will call this out in our email and always recommend waiting one week before booking any non-refundable accommodations or activities. To learn more, read our mistake fare guide.

A. To unsubscribe from Scott’s Cheap Flights, click the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any cheap flight alert email.

Q. How do I update my cheap flight alert departure airport preferences?

A. You may update your departure preferences at any time by logging in and visiting the Departure Preferences page.

Premium members have the ability to select which airports to receive cheap flight alerts from, while Free members may select regions which contain a wide variety of airports.

Q. Why am I receiving alerts for airports other than the ones I selected?

A. The most likely reason for receiving alerts for airports other than the ones you’ve selected is because you’re a Free member. Free members receive alerts from regions which include a large number of airports.

To select specific airports, please upgrade to a Premium membership, which in addition to offering airport filters, also includes most of our best deals!

4. Subscription & billing:

Q. Is my credit card information secure?

A. Yes. All credit card transactions are encrypted and processed through Stripe, the industry-leader in credit card security.

A. Yes, your Premium membership will renew automatically unless it has been cancelled.
