The humans that make Going 'go' are thoughtful, hard-working, empathetic individuals that make you want to shoot for the moon.

Tell us about you! (Where are you from, hobbies/interests, things you do outside of work!)

New York born and bred, so automatically, pizza and bagels are a separate food group entirely.

I grew up by the water, so anything involving the sea - count me in. As an avid sailor, I've competed in national championships and have had the pleasure of working on large scale professional sailing events worldwide. Outside of Going, you can find me reading up on the latest cafe and restaurant openings, traveling :) 40 countries down, and so many more to go!

What does a Company Spokesperson do anyway? How did you get into Public Relations?

A spokesperson is a friendly face that helps spread the company's messaging, like the first line of defense in good times and bad. In Going's case, I help educate the media and the masses on all the amazing benefits of being a Going member while keeping tabs on the greater travel industry. Media uses Going as a go-to source for unpacking how industry changes affect their trips, wallets, and, of course, how people can be more equipped when traveling the world.

What's your favorite thing about your role here at Going?

Not to sound like a fan girl, but I was a Scott's Cheap Flights advocate even before working at the company! I love helping people not only find a good deal but also talking about travel. Who gets to say that they talk about what they love for a living??

What advice would you give to a candidate interested in working at Going?

Word has definitely gotten out that working at Going is pretty fantastic. My colleagues are, for lack of a better word, Bada****, and so the bar is set pretty high. To make yourself stand out, think outside the box. How can you demonstrate that you've got it "Going on" for the specific role? For example, I cut together a video cover letter to showcase my on-camera experience since this role was public-facing. Don't overthink; just demonstrate it from the start!

What brought you to Going in the first place? What's your why (why Going?)?

I have always been the type of person who believed that work doesn't have to look like a square cubicle with 14 days off a year. I knew I wanted to work for a company that not only valued not being tied to an office but also trusted their employees to produce exceptional work even if they only see them face to face twice a year. Additionally, it's the people. The humans that make Going "go" are thoughtful, hard-working, empathetic individuals that make you want to shoot for the moon.

What's your favorite travel destination and why?

Australia. I have visited the continent 12 times and could visit it 12 more without a blink of an eye. I had the privilege of working on a hotel project that brought me all over the map, hitting all the major cities and idyllic beaches you can ever imagine. It wasn't just the scenery or optimal weather that captured my heart, but the pure ease of it all. The commonly heard expression, "No worries, mate," truly embodies Australian culture.

Looking forward to my 13th visit soon 😉

What always makes you laugh, no matter what?

Once, I accidentally stepped through the gap between the train and the platform while boarding a train in Spain. I will never forget the chatter and horror from the women and conductor around me, yet I thought it was hilarious. Now I know how Mr. Bean feels daily 🤣
